How to send long memos?

If your memos is more than 25 MB (or 50 MB), your email provider might not accept to send it directly by email. These memos can still be shared, but extra steps might be required.

First check if you have an iCloud account setup (you probably have one, as this is the default unless you have explicitly opted out). You can check this by opening the Settings app and pressing on your name (this is the first item on the home page of the Settings app). Then press on "iCloud". On the next screen check if "iCloud Drive" is set to "Yes". If it is, then you have an iCloud account. If you want to setup an iCloud account, see your iPhone / iPad / Mac user manual.

When you have an iCloud account, sending long memos by email is easy. If a memo is larger than what your email provider accepts, then Mail will automatically ask you if you want to use "Mail Drop". If you agree to use Mail Drop, the memo will be stored in iCloud and a link to iCloud will be provided in the email. This is done automatically for you, all you have to do is accept to use Mail Drop. This is the easiest solution. Just remember that the link will only work for 30 days. So make sure the person receiving the email saves the memo if they need to access it for longer than 30 days.

You can also send a memo from Audio Memos to a third party cloud provider like Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive or other. If you have their app installed, in Audio Memos press "Send" > "More" > "App" to send your memo. Once uploaded, you can share a link to the file (the exact procedure for this depends on your cloud provider). If you want to share many memos, you can store all those memos in a specific folder and the share the access to that folder. You can setup Audio Memos to automatically send memos to your cloud provider. So in case you always need to send your memos to the same group of persons, this is the fastest solution.

Remember you can access your memos from a computer using the File Sharing feature (see this page for details). If the setting called "Use iCloud" is enabled in Audio Memos, you will find your memos in iCloud Drive instead of the "File Sharing" section. If all you needed is have access to your memo from your computer, then you are done. Otherwise you can use your computer to copy or send the memo.
